Knocking at the Right Door: Senior Housing and Rights

Activity

Knocking at the Right Door: Senior Housing and Rights

Duration: 90 min.
Target audience(s): General public, Seniors, Caregivers
Available mode(s): Online, In-person

Description

The Knocking at the Right Door: Senior Housing and Rights workshop provides an overview of housing options for seniors, and related rights and recourses. Participants explore the housing stories of fictional characters by watching videos that tell the story and problem experienced by each of these characters. Legal information is included with each video.

Note :

  • The workshop is an introduction to housing options and related rights and recourses.

  • The workshop is scalable: you can choose which of the four housing options to present. For example, if the workshop is hosted in a private seniors’ residence, the Staying at Home slides can be removed.

  • For in-person workshops, we suggest you print copies of the guides (see the Related Content sections below).

Objectifs d’apprentissage

At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • recognize that seniors have rights and recourses relating to these options,

  • know where to find reliable legal tools and resources.
